Chapter 12: [Phantasmal Sword Fafnir]

[Control room, Sub-Headquarters]

As soon as the test was over the organizer led Kanzaki and Isabelle at the control room

As soon as he arrived the head Chief Oliver told him the reason why he's been called

"So your telling me that no matter the result of the test, I would be automatically be registered as a member?" Asks Kanzaki

"That's right! I told you I got my ways"

Said Oliver seemingly proud to himself

"Then what was all the training I've been doing all this time? Wasn't that for this test?" Argued Kanzaki

"Well a small part of that... But the real reason is so that you can somehow fight when you receive a mission" pointed out Oliver

"Really it all happened so fast!" Muttered Kanzaki

As they were conversing Oliver noticed Isabelle

"So by the way who's the girl?" Asks Oliver

"Huh! Oh right!" Said Kanzaki as he remembered Isabelle was also dragged here

But the soon as he turned around he saw Isabelle trembling and shock at the same time

"Isabelle-san?" Prod Kanzaki

"Wha... How..... How can you speak so easily to the Head Chief like it was nothing?" Asks Isabelle seemingly bewildered

For her the position Head Chief is the top position in the Sub-Headquarters in Grandora, so Oliver was much like a celebrity in the organization

"Why? Well..... He is the one who personally told me to join this organization" explained Kanzaki

"Im... Impossible the.....the Head Chief personally invited you? Kanzaki..... Just who are you?" Asks Isabelle as she can't accept the reality that Kanzaki was someone important

"Well..... I'm just an ordinary guy!" Answered Kanzaki

"No way! An ordinary guy got close to the Head Chief? No wait! Your a Chaos Eye User just like me..... Does that mean you surpass me even in that?" Said Isabelle as she backed away

Upon seeing this Kanzaki glanced at Oliver and pleaded for help

"Hays! Well can't be helped..... Sanaguchi explain it to her" ordered Oliver

"Right!... Isabelle-chan right?.... The thing is.... The reason why Kanzaki is someone important to the organization is because we believe that he has something that the chaos being fear" explained Sanaguchi

Upon hearing that Isabelle glanced at Kanzaki

"They fear?" She asks

"Yes! But we still don't know what is it.... But because of this Kanzaki is kept being chased by the chaos beast until he is confirmed dead so that's why the organization thinks that Kanzaki is an important person" added Sanaguchi

"Is that true? About you being chased by the chaos being?" Asks Isabelle clearly feels sorry for Kanzaki

"Well it is true but somehow I haven't seen any chaos being around me for three months" wondered Kanzaki

"Well it's because we're killing them so that's the reason why you haven't seen them for so long" answered Oliver

"Ah I see! Sorry for the trouble" said Kanzaki as he bowed down

Upon realizing her mistake in criticising Kanzaki Isabelle also apologized

"Me too sorry for the misunderstanding" she said as she bowed down

"I know how about I make thing up for you just asks me anything" added Isabelle

While being silent for a moment Kanzaki answered

"All right then why don't you join the Polar Dormitory and be my supporter permanently?" Asks Kanzaki as he smiled

"You mean I'll be designated to a certain team already?" Asks back Isabelle seemingly shocked

"Well yeah.... That's fine right Head Chief Oliver and Operating Officer Sanaguchi? Asks Kanzaki as he glanced at Oliver and Sanaguchi

Upon seeing that Kanzaki was asking for their permission, both Lough it out

"Fine I'll handle the papers" said Oliver

"And I'll prepare some arrangements for her" added Sanaguchi

Upon hearing their approval Kanzaki brighten up and gave Isabelle the good news

"Your one of us now!" Said Kanzaki

Hearing this Isabelle looked at Oliver for confirmation

"Isabelle Wright with the orders from the Head Chief himself, you will be designated to the Polar Dormitory starting today..... Please do good and achieve greater heights" ordered Oliver

As Oliver said this Isabelle cried tears and thank Kanzaki, Sanaguchi, and Oliver

"Thank you!... Thank you!..... Finally..... All my hard work paid off" she muttered to herself

As Isabelle thanked the the three just simply smiled back at her

As they left the control room Sanaguchi catch up to them and said

"Oh yeah! The gang prepared a congratulary gift to you!" Said Sanaguchi

"Congratulary gift?" Asks Kanzaki

"Yeah at one of Ryuuji's mission manage to obtain a dragons heart" said Sanaguchi

"Dragon? Don't tell me this is already turned to fantasy tales?!" Said Kanzaki not believing in dragons

"Oh! It's not an actual pulsing dragon heart... It's more like a stone at the size of a dragon heart!" Explained Sanaguchi

"What? A stone?" Asks Kanzaki

"Yeah and a strong one at that it even on par with the strongest metal that humanity found or maybe above it" said Sanaguchi

"No way a stone stronger than vibranium?" Gasp Isabelle

Upon seeing Isabelle's reaction Kanzaki turned to Sanaguchi

"So what is it?"

"Well we did found it in the middle of a chaos beings nest so maybe it became stronger because of the long exposure to foreign elements" added Sanaguchi

"Whoa!" Exclaimed Kanzaki

"If you want to check it out you can head to the blacksmith department" advised Sanaguchi

After saying this Sanaguchi waved goodbye

After he left both Kanzaki and Isabelle headed to the blacksmith department and upon arriving there they asked about the dragon heart whereabouts but the people in the department said that it was in the precuring stage for the weapon so it must not get disturb

"By the way what kind of weapon will it be turned" asks Isabelle curiously

"Well I heard that it will be a Japanese shaped sword" said one of the blacksmiths

Upon hearing this Kanzaki asked

"Do you know the person who recommended the weapons form?"

"Well I think it's a guy with a long red hair" said the apprentice

As he heard the description Kanzaki immediately know who recommended it

"I see" said Kanzaki

As he finished his business with the blacksmith department both Kanzaki and Isabelle exited the Sub-Headquarters

The moment they arrived at the exit both Kanzaki and Isabelle agreed to meet up tomorrow at the train station and with that they went on to their seperates ways

As he arrived at the dormitory he immediately came face to face with Ryuuji

As he pass by Kanzaki said to him

"Thank you for the sword"

"Heh! It should be.... I know that you were going to pass..... cause if you don't and you actually failed.... I would be a laughing stock in this dormitory" said Ryuuji mockingly

But Kanzaki ignored this and said

"Right! And one day I'll use that weapon to defeat you" Kanzaki said challenging Ryuuji

"Bring it on!" Said Ryuuji as he accepted kanzaki's challenge

As they were exchanging word the guys Jinwoo, Ai, Jessica were peeking at the corner whispering something

"Hey they became buddy buddy!" Said Jessica

"Your right Ryuuji finally grow up" agreed Jinwoo

"Soon they will be battle besties" added Ai

Upon hearing they're remarks Ryuuji snapped

"Oi! Who are you calling battle buddies huh?" Said Ryuuji angrily

"Both of you are" answered Ai

"Huh? Do you want to die?" Said Ryuuji in a thug like manner

"Well let's put that aside later..... For now we need to celebrate for kanzaki passing" said Jinwoo

"Your right! Let's party!" Cheered Jessica

"Yeah! Yeah!" Added Ai

"You guys!" Snarled Ryuuji

"Hahahaha!" Laughed aside kanzaki

As for that the party goes till the dead of night and that's the end of the day of Kanzaki's entrance test

[7:00 am]

As Jinwoo woke up and went down the stairs still drowsy, he saw Sanaguchi on the table and Kanzaki preparing to leave

"Hey! Your up early!" Greeted Jinwoo

"Oh! Yeah! I got someplace to go to so bye" said Kanzaki as he left the dormitory

"Well someone's on a hurry!" Commented Jinwoo

"Hahaha! He is going to meet a girl after all" replied Sanaguchi

"A girl? Wait does this mean he has a date?.... Wait a minute how do you know this?" Asks Jinwoo

"I've been eavesdropping" smirked Sanaguchi

"Uwah! You really like to get your nose into issue aren't you?" Remarked Jinwoo

"Fufufu!" Chuckled Sanaguchi

As kanzaki was making his way down the road leading to the train station where Isabelle said they would meet up he heard a child scream

Upon hearing the scream Kanzaki turned to the corner from where the voice of the child was heard

As soon he took a peek he saw a huge tiger type chaos being is assaulting a boy which likely at the age of 8

The moment the chaos beast swipe his claws at the child Kanzaki instantly leaped infront of the child and grabbed him away

"Who....who are you?" Asks the child as it seems that he cried out of fear

"Don't worry your safe now!" Assured Kanzaki

But contrary to what he said he thought otherwise

"This is a really bad situation! I don't even have a weapon to use" he thought as he looked his surroundings

But the chaos beast was not patient so it tossed aside kanzaki

"Gah!" Cried Kanzaki as he hit the wall

"Aniki!" Shouted the child

After tossing aside kanzaki the chaos beast pounced on the child

"Shit! I lost my concentration so he was able to hit me" thought Kanzaki

Upon realizing that he wouldn't make it he shouted

"KID RUN!!!"

But the next moment the chaos beast claws hit something hard

Peng....

A sound of metal being hit was vibrated

"Oi! Oi! What the heck are you doing making a child worry"

When Kanzaki heard this he noticed that the chaos being claws actually struck Ifrit Ryuuji's weapon and when he looked behind it he saw Ryuuji covering the child

"Ryuuji!" Kanzaki exclaimed

"Hey don't make a kid worry you douche" said Ryuuji

"I'm really sorry" apologized Kanzaki

"Well anyway I know the reason why you can't attack this creature so here catch this" said Ryuuji

At the same time Ryuuji tossed a long black object to Kanzaki

When Kanzaki manage to catch it and inspected it he noticed that he is holding a black sword sheath

"This is..." Said Kanzaki as he pulled out the black sword

"This is the dragon heart?" Asks Kanzaki

"Well duh! It is the main material for that weapon" said Ryuuji

"By the way the blacksmith who made this said that this sword can grow stronger as it's wielder grow stronger too and one day would be able to break the physics of this world and possibly fighting God" added Ryuuji

"Well I do think the story is bull**" he finished

But contrary to Ryuuji's reaction Kanzaki was extremely engrossed with the sword

"But wait it's so fast to be finished" wondered Kanzaki

"Oh no need to think about that I actually gave that to the blacksmith 10 days ago" answered Ryuuji

"Oh yeah the weapon ability to cut down it's opponent won't show unless you gave it a name" said Ryuuji

"A name eh!" Pondered Kanzaki

Kanzaki really liked the description that these sword can become stronger in the future, strong enough to break the laws of the universe and fight the god

As he thought about this Kanzaki remembered a dragon in a certain tale which is feared by the gods and also has the power over space, and with it's power it can even create a place for him alone

"I've decided it's name will be Fafnir" declared Kanzaki

As he gave it a name the sword begin to emit Mana around it and a pulsating heart can only be felt by Kanzaki within the sword

"That's great! Now cut these beast" said Ryuuji as it pinned down the chaos being

As kanzaki launched itself to the chaos beast, he quickly sliced the chaos beast into two

Upon seeing the results Ryuuji was amazed by the swords performance

For Kanzaki himself a rush suddenly entered his body as he have his very own weapon

"Amazing! So these is...."

"Phantasmal Weapon Fafnir"

Author's notes:

1st.) The reason the chaos beast ignored Ryuuji and Kanzaki's conversation because it's a low ranking chaos being making it quite dumb or low intelligence

2.) Fafnir is a Phantasmal dragon feared by the gods for it has the ability to break space and reality
