Chapter 3: [Decision]

[Construction site]

"Who are you?" Kanzaki asked weakly

"Shut up! Bystanders should only watch by the sidewalk" said the mysterious person wearing a hood

Before Kanzaki could even retort the mysterious person grabbed the hilt of its sword and swung it

With one swing of its sword it produced a huge amount of air pressure strong enough to make the panther type chaos beast put it's guard up and be wary of the person

"Grrr!" The chaos beast growled at him

At the same time it released it's intimidation and killing intent and directed it to the mysterious person hoping that it will waver

With the amount of pressure the chaos beast is releasing it even made kanzaki question his sanity when he tried to fight it

"You must be joking! Does that mean all this time it just toyed with me ?" He thought to himself "it's not even targeting me but I feel pressured by it... the pressure it releases now when facing that guy is two times bigger than it was facing me!"

Bearing the feeling of being inferior to it like a rabbit facing off a lion... he finally realized just how much reckless his decision was when he tried to lure it away after all it could have killed him anytime if it wants to... Realizing the gap between him and the beast he gritted his teeth and warned the mysterious person

"Get away from there I'm the one it's after you should..."

Before it could finish it's sentence contradictory to his expectation the person didn't even back down only but he also pointed the sword at him

"Shut your mouth!!! The weak has no right to speak here... You lost! that's enough reason for me to lost interest in you got it!?" The person told him threateningly

With red eyes looking at Kanzaki like a predator looking at an ant he understood that this guy have seen enough blood and probably has even worse past than he is

With no way to retort Kanzaki backed down

Seeing that's it's being ignored the chaos beast released a deafening roar at the mysterious person

Kanzaki immediately reacted and tried to warn the mysterious person but before he could warn him the person itself sliced through the sound like cutting a paper

Kanzaki was astonished for the first time

"He cut that things roar like it was nothing!" He exclaimed

In the next moment the person disappeared and reappeared above the chaos beast and instantly stabbed its sword at its back

The chaos beast cried out in pain

"Burn everything" the person murmured

In the next moment flames started to emerge from the ground where the chaos beast and the mysterious person are standing and immediately engulfed both of them in flames creating a pillar of flame

Of course this didn't go unnoticed by the nearby people

With the flames high atmospheric pressure it burned the oxygen around it making the fire even wilder, with the burning of the oxygen around the vicinity Kanzaki slowly lost its consciousness

"Eh!?" He exclaimed as he finally collapsed and lost his consciousness

When the flame pillar finally subsided a huge crater can be seen where it was once was before

At the center of the crater a single person with a sword could be seen standing still with a burned corpse right beside it

"*Sigh! Small fry" he murmured to himself

As he observed his surroundings he noticed Kanzaki lying on the floor and slowly approached it

As he was looking at Kanzaki the comms in his collar started to speak up

(Well your the only person out there who could say that such enemy is a small fry)

Author's note: when a character tried to speak using comms I'll be using this symbol (,) to differentiate it from a normal conversation

A girl's voice can be heard behind the comms

With a blank look the person replied to her

"No one asked for your opinion you know"

(Well as long as I'm in charge of this mission I have the right to give my own opinion right!?) Said the girl

"*Sigh! Well nevermind that! I want you to lockdown the area surrounding this place from sector 41 to sector 44! We need to make sure that the media wouldn't panic from this incident" he ordered her

(You got it... I'll be sending teams to this 4 locations)

"Oh by the way! I want you to send a unit to the academy"

(Already ahead of you... I've already sent the relief team to assist all the injured people there)

"Great! Also give me the recent data of events the where the breakout happen"

(Roger that)

As the girl sent the data containing the events where the breakout usually happens the girl asked the person

(You know what!? Out of all the breakout this is the only incident wherein there are no casualties involved and based on the cameras set up in different places in the city... That chaos beast just ignored the other people and only focused on that guy... Doesn't that feels off to you?)

"Well your thoughts are on point, I've been watching the events happen from afar after all" he replied "just send his info and data to the chief he will handle the rest"

(Eh!? Your not going to look into him? That's new!)

Before the person answer he took a glance at Kanzaki and said

"Why would I need to look into him when he was defeated by a small fry? Let me be frank I have no interest to the people who are weak"

(Well your orders)

Little did the person and the girl know that these meeting was a turning point between two sides who have been in a stalemate war for 10 years and will decide the fate of the two world's but that is another story in the future

[Hospital (Grandora city)]

Room 304

Author's notes: from this point onward I'll use this symbol (~) when a person is in a dreamlike state from start to finish

~ "huh!? Where am I?"(Kanzaki)

As Kanzaki opened his eyes he saw flames and destroyed buildings but he doesn't recognize where he is right now

"What I this place"(Kanzaki)

After few seconds of wondering around Kanzaki heard war cries behind the mountain of rubble

"Huh? There's  people over there"(Kanzaki)

As Kanzaki climbed up the mountain of rubble he was shocked by the scenery he saw

There two sides of forces fighting each other, killing, and slaughtering until one side remains

"What the heck is this? Where am I?"(Kanzaki)

After he said his thoughts a ball flame was headed for his direction

"Wait! No! Hey!"~

"Ahhhh!!!!" He screamed "huh? It was a dream?"

As Kanzaki looked at himself he noticed that he was in bed ( hospital bed) and felt relief

"Heh!heh! It really was a dream"

Before he could rejoice a voice suddenly spoke up beside him

"Well that was some scream"(???)

Kanzaki was startled at sudden interruption but when he looked at the owner of the voice he saw a man in his 30's in a black suit, looking Sharp and sitting at the sofa

"Who are you?" Asked Kanzaki

"Ah sorry for my late introduction! The names Oliver straum... Im the head chief director of the chaos breakers stationed at Grandora city" said Oliver

"Chaos Breakers?" Asked Kanzaki

"Yes! Were responsible in handling the breakouts happening inside Grandora city" Oliver replied

"Wait you mean you handle those things? I thought it was the defenders who supposed to do those jobs!"Kanzaki exclaimed

"Yes in the past we were called defenders... we just renamed our organization that's all" said Oliver

"Why the sudden change?" Asked Kanzaki curiously

"10 years is a long time you know.... Anything can happen during those times" Oliver reassured

"So why are you here?" asked Kanzaki

Then Oliver smirked

"Well you see... I've looked into your personal info and background but there's nothing in there that made me take interest in you except for your background as a survivor during the post chaos war... But that too is not enough.... Do you know why? Because there are thousands of you people in Grandora city who has the same background as you... A survivor!!!" Oliver explained

"But this recent incident is different from the other breakout... That is because this is the first breakout with no casualties in Grandora city!!! So it made me wonder... Why does in this incident the chaos beast was so focused in targeting only you and practically ignored all other people near it!?" Added Oliver

"That's... I don't have an answer" Kanzaki replied

"Well my guess is that you have something that they want" Oliver reconfirmed his suspicions as he look out the window

"They want?" Asked Kanzaki

"Or they fear" Oliver pointed out

"They fear? What could I possibly have that could make them fear me? Didn't you know? That thing almost killed me! So please tell me by that situation how can you say it fears me" Kanzaki argued

"That's just a natural reaction!.... Beast tends to get rid of things that endangers their lives thus securing their own safety" Oliver explained

"In your situation you are threat to him..... So before you could do anything to kill him... He will just focus in killing you first" Oliver added

"Does that mean..." Kanzaki realized something

"No need to stress yourself I've already seen your skill stats and I know that you can see into the future... Am I right?" Oliver corrected him

"How can you say that?"Kanzaki asked worryingly

"Because there are 5 people around the world who has the ability to see into the future and your one of them" Oliver said

"Does that mean my skill is not unique? Kanzaki asked realizing that he's not the only one that has an ability to see into the future

"Yup! Your skill is not unique rather it is categorized as rare" Oliver confirmed

"I've done my research on the first time that the scientist examined your body and I found out that you supposed to have two skills but the other one is either locked or you haven't learned it yet..... If my guess is correct the second skill you have is probably the reason why the chaos beast are wary of you" Oliver said

"A skill that they fear and only I can use it.... What do I do? He murmured

Hearing this Oliver suggested something

"Well I've already thought about that"

"You got a solution?" Kanzaki asked surprisingly

"Not really a type that you can call solution but feel free to do so as you please" said Oliver

"First is to join our team, be a part of the organization" Oliver added

"Join the Chaos Breakers!?" asked Kanzaki

"Or depend on your own ability to survive as long as you can by yourself.... It's like either join us or your own on your own" said Oliver

"But I'm not a fighter" Kanzaki reasoned

"Well you have to at least learn how to defend yourself or you will die a lot sooner than expected" Oliver replied

For the next few seconds Kanzaki was utterly silenced and doesn't know what to say

"Can you give me time to think about it?"Kanzaki suggested

"Alright call me if you have decided an answer... Oh yeah I left my calling card at the desk" said Oliver

"I'll keep that in mind" Kanzaki replied

As Oliver left the room, Alice entered next and slowly approached Kanzaki with her head facing the floor

"Hey Kanzaki!" Alice exclaimed

"Alice" Kanzaki replied

The moment Kanzaki replied Alice started crying

"I.... I'm sorry" Alice apologized

"He..... Hey Alice why are you crying?" Kanzaki asked back

"I became a burden to you aren't I?' asked Alice

"I finally understand the reason why you were telling me to get away from you..... It was meant to protect me isn't it?" Said alice " but in the end I misunderstood its meaning and even put your life in danger"

"Alice" said Kanzaki worryingly

"I'll should have done something.... I should have! But the moment i faced that thing I couldn't even move my body... I don't want to lose someone who's important to me... But because of my powerlessness you decided to be the bait and lure it away from the academy to save us and because of that your here now in the hospital" said alice while crying

"I'm sorry! Hic! I'm sorry! Hic!"

Kanzaki was speechless, Alice thought of him as someone who's tough and strong but in reality he's just as weak as she is right now

Seeing this Kanzaki clenched his first as he replied

"Don't worry next time I'll be strong enough to protect you and maybe not be hospitalized!?" Said Kanzaki while smiling back at her

Seeing this Alice dived to kanzaki's chest and cried to her content

As nightfall reached Grandora city Kanzaki stood up and looked outside the window

He clearly remembered Alice words

(I'm sorry! I'm sorry)

(Because of my powerlessness)

(I should have done something)

"I need to get stronger to protect the people that I care" he murmured to himself

At that moment he remembered the mysterious person that saved him

"I need to be as strong as him.... No I need to be stronger" he murmured

Finally filled up with determination to grow stronger Kanzaki picked up the phone and called someone

"Hello! This is Oliver straum... Who is this?" Oliver said

"It's me Jhin Kanzaki" Kanzaki replied

"Oh it you!!! So what's your answer?" Asked Oliver

"Tell me how can I become a member of the Chaos Breakers" said kanzaki
