Chapter 9: [Test and New Comrade]

[Audience hall, Sub-Headquarters]

"Attention!!! All I have been informed that all test takers are present in the venue right so if you would please quite down so that we could begin" said the host as he announced all examinees

Currently today is the month of November and Kanzaki is one of the examinees that will take the test

The test is for the purpose whether you'll be able to join the chaos breakers or not

The organization called chaos breakers is one of the well known organizations in the world for they hold the power to fight against the chaos beings the enemy that is trying to cause havoc in this world

Due to the popularity of the organization and how well it was received by the community, it is not strange at all if some people find this line of job to be quite appealing

Rich families mostly let their sons or daughter's join the organization to gain either reputation for itself or get close to other government officials

For that reasons many people from rich families chose the safest job in the organization and that is either management, research team, publicity team, desk team, and many more..... While the job are the frontlines such as soldiers and supporter department are often taken in by common people, the frontliners is the

But with the rules and regulations that was newly appointed by the current head general and Founder of chaos eyes unit "Alexander Garcia" such norms have been trashed and the people that are able to work in the organization are either smart, strong, determined, and hard-working

Because of the new regulations there are mixed status in different department in the organization..... And for today is the test for the frontliners and supporters

"All in all there are 198 examinees for either frontliners and supporters department but I assume only those who are picked can join the organization" said the host

"There are only two parts in the test one is intellectual test for both frontlines and supporters department and the other one is practical test where a pair of frontliners and a supporter will help each other to finish things up" he added

"The practical consist of three trials, first is the virtual battle with a random chaos being that will be generated by our tech department while the second one is a battle between two pairs while the third one is a battle between two pairs with same ratings or nearly ratings" he explained

"There's a match battle" Kanzaki thought to myself

"Well I hope there's no one here that's fights as crazy as Ryuuji" he added

"We will now start with the intellectual test so everyone please answer the questions in the iPod that the volunteers will distribute and when your finish just press submit and turn off the iPod" the host announced

"You guys have at least one hour to answer them so please take your time" said the host as he leaves the venue

"What already?" (Examinee 1)

"They don't really take any considerations" (Examinee 2)

"Oh well I gonna pass this test and become famous in our district" (Examinee 3)

As the examinees started answering the questions, the venue became silent

So silent enough that it is enough to know that the examinees are serious in passing the test

As all of them answered kanzaki went about his merry way and answered all of them

"Well of course I can answer all of them, the whole practically fit all their knowledge into my brain" thought Kanzaki as he remembered his sleepless night

[1 hour later]

As the hour passed the host entered the venue again and announced

"Thank you for answering all of the questions and with this we will start with the practical test"

"Whoa! Finally! It's starting" (Examinee 1)

"I'll make sure I'll win all the battles" (Examinee 2)

"If I pass this test my goal won't be far from now" (Examinee 3)

"I've checked all your departments that you want to join and I can assure you that both department has the same number of present Examinee... So I can assume that all of you will have a partner" said the host

"Well then please start finding a partner and when you found one please go to me to register both of you" he added

As the host finished saying that the whole venue became noisy from people going around and asking to be their pair on the test

"Ah **! I totally lack in my social skills but I need to find a partner or else I won't be able to register for the test" Kanzaki thought to himself

As kanzaki was searching for a partner a certain girl in her highschool uniform approached him

"I'm excuse me! Can I ask I you have already a partner?" ???

As kanzaki turned to look for the owner of the voice he saw a Highschool girl talking to him

"Um! Not yet why?" Ask Kanzaki as regained his posture

"That's great can you be my partner?" Ask the girl

"Huh? Wait! how can you even tell if I'm not joining the same department as you?" Asks Kanzaki

"That's because..... How can I say this I have the ability to see other people's status" said the girl shyly

"Don't tell me you..... Nevermind but why me? if you can see other people stats then why not go to them?" Asks Kanzaki

"That's because.... Your the only person who's wearing a school uniform like me in this place..... So it makes me comfortable if someone close to my age became a pair with me" she said

When she said that Kanzaki finally remembered that he was wearing the academy uniform all this time

"Ah right... Well anyway please take care of me" said Kanzaki

Seeing Kanzaki accepted her request she cheered up

"Umu! Me as well" she said

"By the way! My names Jhin Kanzaki but you can call me kanzaki"

"Ah I forgot to introduce myself! My name Isabelle Wright" said Isabelle

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Nationality: English (Britain)

Occupation: Highschool student

Skill: Appraisal

Status: Examinee for supporter

"Nice to meet you" said Kanzaki

"Likewise" replied Isabelle

As they both decided to partner up with each other they immediately headed to the host and registered for the practical test

Time pass by and all of the Examinee manage to pair up

"Their are 4 arena prepared and each pair will go inside the arena and select the category of what chaos being they will challenge..... It's like a difficulty set up!" Said the host

"But let me remind you choosing a higher difficulty will be indeed give you a high rating if you won but if you lost you will have a hard time catching up to the ratings" he added

After saying this mostly some of pairs started to discuss whether they pick a difficulty challenge or an easy one

"There are 4 category.... 1st is beast level, 2nd is mutated monster level, 3rd is Titan level, and 4th is Knight level" the host declared

"I will call the number of the pair in random so the number I called please step into the arena..." He added

As expected the first batch of pairs choosed the safest route which is beast level, no one even dare to challenge a higher route for they fear that they will fail

As the test was going on Isabelle asked Kanzaki

"So what do you think we should choose?"

"Don't worry about that I'll decide what we will take but first in order for us to work together proficiently I need to know about your ability" Kanzaki replied

"Ah is that so then as you know my ability it let me see the status of the person I wish to know at" she answered

"So basically like an appraisal in fantasy anime...." Said Kanzaki

"Yeah something like that" replied Isabelle

"Well as for me I have an ability to see into the future..... Meaning it's more like a foresight" said Kanzaki

"Wait so you also have an ability just like me?" Asked Isabelle seemly surprised

"Well yeah didn't you notice when I said ability a while ago?" Asked Kanzaki seemingly confused

"Well I thought you meant your physical talent" answered Isabelle

"I see" lamented Kanzaki

"But your ability is amazing with that you can practically avoid anything" proclaimed Isabelle

"That's where people are wrong.... They all think that if they can see the future then they can avoid danger.." said Kanzaki

"Why? Is it wrong?" Asks Isabelle

"Yes it's wrong! Foresight only shows you what will happen into the future it doesn't really help you... Yes having foresight can help you evade various stuff but that doesn't make you athletic to dodge everything so sometimes you will get hit if you can't avoid it" explained Kanzaki

"And in order for you to maximize the use of the foresight advantage, you yourself needs to be fast, agile, flexible, and most of all have keen sense to everything around him" he added

"That's a lot of recommendations for just one ability" complained Isabelle

"Of course having an ability is no joke at all" assured Kanzaki

"By the way what school are you attending?" Asks Isabelle

"Oh it's Harvon Academy!" Answered Kanzaki

"What? One of the well known Acadamy amazing!!!" Said Isabelle clearly amazed

"It's nothing much really.... So what about you?" Asked back Kanzaki

"Oh I'm at Miriam highschool" said Isabelle

"Ah a public school with good reputation" commented Kanzaki

"Thank you for the compliment" said Isabelle

"If you don't mind you could visit my school I'm sure the group will like you" said Isabelle

"Group?" Asks Kanzaki

"My friends at school, their a really good bunch I assure you" said Isabelle

"Well I'll go their in my spare time... How about after this test?" Suggested Kanzaki

"Tomorrow? Sure... But won't you have classes?" Wondered Isabelle

"Don't worry I have my ways" answered Kanzaki

With that both Isabelle talked to each other as they wait for their turn

A hour has passed and a commotion arose making Kanzaki and Isabelle stop their conversation

"Amazing pair 20 just defeated a mutated monster" (Examinee 1)

"That's all? Look at pair 34 they defeated a titan level monster" (Examinee 2)

"These guys are amazing! where did they come from?" (Examinee 3)

As kanzaki saw that there are people challenging higher difficulty, he became excited as he smiled

"This is great" he muttered

"PAIR NO.10"

upon hearing this Isabelle told Kanzaki

"It's our number! Kanzaki-kun it's our turn next!" Said Isabelle as she calmed herself

"Finally! Let's go!" Said Kanzaki

The moment Kanzaki and Isabelle entered the arena the entrance immediately closed itself and a huge selection appeared infront of Kanzaki containing the different difficulty

"So what should we choose?" Asks Isabelle as she prepared herself for the battle

"Isn't that obvious!" Declared Kanzaki as he picks his choice

[WARNING!!! KNIGHT LEVEL HAS BEEN CHOSEN PLEASE BE READY TO FIGHT THE BATTLE]

The system announced Kanzaki choice loudly to the crowd

Because of these the whole venue became silent

Isabelle wasn't the only one surprised, technically the whole people in the room was surprised..... People like the tech- team, medic- team, organizers, sponsors, alumni, the host, previous challengers, the spectators, and even the higher ups that were taking a peek

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!" (Examinee 1)

"IS THAT GUY CRAZY!!!???" (Examinee 2)

"THAT GUY IS LOOKING FOR A DEATH WISH!!!" (Examinee 3)

"This does not looks good call the higher ups!!! NOW!!!" (Host)

"Looks like we got ourselves a goner" (Organizer 1)

"I hope that kid will be okay" (Organizer 2)

"Looks like this will be interesting!" (Higher-up 1)

"Will this be the another promising soldier I presume?!!!" (Higher-up 2)

The whole venue went to an uproar as the systems warning was still visible above the arena and the decision of the Examinee

"Wawawawawa..... It's over! Everything's over!" Said Isabelle as she shook from the choice Kanzaki made

"It's not over..." Proclaimed Kanzaki

"Just get a weapon and stand at the edge of the arena and keep me up with its status while I go face it" said Kanzaki as he grabbed a Photon sword

"I can assure you that we will get the highest mark"

Author's notes:

• Kanzaki became confident of his ability to face a knight level chaos being because of his training with Ryuuji which is stronger than his opponent

• Also knight level is not the highest level among the chaos being you will soon learn more as you proceed

• The strength of the simulation monster is just a degraded version of the real thing so you can expect fight scenes where Kanzaki is having a hard time fighting a real beast type chaos being and other types

• The organization did that not only to ensure safety for the examinees but also experience
